Yep. But like I say, it'll be hefty.

The iPhone actually costs more than you pay for it, but O2 offsets the cost because you pay them a set amount every month for 18 months. You only just had yours, so you're not entitled to a discounted phone yet.

They might do some special offers, but I don't know. You'd have to ring and find out.

I think they'll be the same price. I've not seen the UK pricing yet, but they've directly replaced the iPhone 3G in the USA, and dropped the price of the 8GB iPhone 3G by $100. The iPhone 3G is now a sort of "budget" model.

Pressing the "next" button either in the first 2 seconds or after 30 seconds will not be registered by iTunes as a "skip".

A track is only marked as "played" if it gets all the way to the end.

Are you talking about the video of the keynote from March? If so, you can also subscribe to those in iTunes as a podcast.

I don't have an iPhone yet, I'm hanging on til the next version now. Hope they send enough of em over here!

There is also a video which runs about 42mins long on the apple site explaining some of the new features that they'll be implementing in the new phone. It's gonna me awesome I can't wait for for it but hopefully it won't be a disappointment. In that case I might just save my money for the next version.

I dunno about iTunes, but I think Quicktime can. It generally comes bundled with iTunes, so you should have it, and anything iTunes will play, Quicktime will.

Well, if Apple stick to what's happened the last two years, the new version of the iPhone will be announced in June and released in July/August. Current rumours (which were the same last year) are for more storage and a front facing camera for video calls.

I wouldn't be surprised if they up the storage, flash memory is coming down in price all the time. The front facing camera is a bit of an unknown quantity, though. Apple has great video conferencing software on their computers and it would be great if they could tie it in with that.

The phone side of the iPhone takes a bit of getting used to, but it's perfectly usable, and has some great features that other phones don't have. The only gripes I had are being sorted in the 3.0 software - mainly being unable to forward text messages. I didn't really care about MMS, I use email anyway cos it's free, but if you use MMS you'll have it in the new software.

Do you know anyone who has an iPhone you can play with? That's the best way to decide if you want one.

choosing a phone is so much harder now, my contract runs out in june but i know whatever i pick i will be stuck with for 18 months. I try to pick the best free one for my contract but that sometimes results in me getting something i hate like the one i have. I'd be tempted with the i phone as i love my i pod but i alaways have the feeling that the phone side of it will be rubbish, and that's the main point of it, it may be brilliant for music but what about good old phone uses

I'm not sure the extra features are worth it for an iTouch. I'd be tempted by stereo Bluetooth, but I dunno about the rest.

The stereo Bluetooth is only available for the newer Touch, anyway.

Don't get me wrong, they are top-spec, fantastic quality displays - but you have to pay through the nose for that.

Yeah, I haven't heard good things about the Apple screens. Can pick up a third-party one for much less.

And I expect that it will replace my current shitty TV. :)

Well, I think Apple displays are pricey for what they are, but they do look very nice!

You can get a decent size flatscreen monitor cheap enough, and if you've got a fairly new telly you can use that as a display.
